How to Get Haunt Egg in Grow a Chicken Fighter
The Haunt Egg is the egg behind the two best meta chickens in the game, Doll Hen and Reaper Rooster. Here is the chain that reaches it, the complete pool, and how to turn it into a steady supply.
Quick answer: how to get a Haunt Egg
- Creepy Clown lays Haunt Eggs 75% of the time (the other 25% are Arena Eggs). Creepy Clown hatches from an Arena Egg at 11%.
- Zombie Chick lays Haunt Eggs 100% of the time, one roughly every 2 minutes in footage. It is the most common hatch from a Haunt Egg (23%), so your first Haunt Egg has a good chance of giving you a permanent layer.
- No code gives a Haunt Egg, and we could not verify any egg shop or price. Chickens are the only source.
Route from a fresh save: Classic Rooster → Nest Egg → Cosmo Brat → Scratch Egg → Slugger Hen → Arena Egg → Creepy Clown → Haunt Egg → Zombie Chick.
Who lays it
| Chicken | Haunt Egg lay rate | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Creepy Clown | 75% | Arena Egg 11%, Haunt Egg 11% |
| Zombie Chick | 100% (about every 2 min) | Haunt Egg 23% |
| Doll Hen | 100% | Haunt Egg 2%, Blazing Egg 3% |
| Reaper Rooster | 100% (players say it lays fast) | Haunt Egg under 1%, Blazing Egg 2% |
| Bone Rooster, Jack Rooster, Wrapped Hen, Vampire Rooster, Shadow Rooster, Ghost Hen | 100% | Haunt Egg only (one roster; Jack Rooster’s 100% also shows in footage) |
Fusing two Zombie Chicks is a common trick to shorten the lay timer; two videos and one route map mention it. Details in the fusion guide.
Hatch pool
Rarities are the chickens’ own tags from the in-game index. Fan sites label the egg itself anywhere from Rare to “cosmic-leaning”; the game only rates chickens.
| Chicken | Rarity | Odds |
|---|---|---|
| Zombie Chick | Common (one site says Rare) | 23% |
| Bone Rooster | Uncommon | 17% |
| Jack Rooster | Uncommon | 17% |
| Wrapped Hen | Rare | 13% |
| Creepy Clown | Rare | 11% |
| Vampire Rooster | Epic | 8% |
| Shadow Rooster | Legendary | 5% |
| Ghost Hen | Mythic | 3% |
| Doll Hen | Divine | 2% |
| Reaper Rooster | Cosmic | under 1% |
What to hatch it for
Doll Hen carries Voodoo, which four separate creators rank as the number-one skill in the game. Its in-game card reads “Whatever lands on her, lands on you. She is fine with the arrangement.” In practice it reflects damage back at whatever hits her; the known weakness is that it does not heal. Full page: Doll Hen.
Reaper Rooster is a Cosmic, so it can hit the 31 stat cap, and it is the community’s favorite Voodoo carrier. The standard build is Reaper Rooster as the base, Doll Hen as the donor, Voodoo locked. Step by step: Reaper x Voodoo fusion.
Ghost Hen (Mythic) and Shadow Rooster (Legendary) are solid mid-tier pulls and both lay Haunt back, so nothing above Rare is wasted. See the skills page for how Voodoo compares to Cycle of Ash and Rebirth.
Fastest farm route
- Hatch Nest Eggs for Cosmo Brat (10%); it lays Scratch Eggs 100%.
- Hatch Scratch Eggs for Slugger Hen (8%); it lays Arena Eggs 75%.
- Hatch Arena Eggs for Creepy Clown (11%). Full pool on the Arena Egg page.
- Creepy Clown lays Haunt Eggs 75%. Open the first one.
- Hatch a Zombie Chick (23%) and let it run: 100% Haunt, about one every 2 minutes. Put it in the Incubator if you have one.
- Open every Haunt Egg until Doll Hen or Reaper Rooster appears, then fuse.
Shortcut: the Blazing Egg lists Doll Hen at 3% and Reaper at 2%, but you only get Blazing Eggs from winning the Hot Egg event. One video claims Haunt Eggs only come through the Blazing route; four others show the chain above working, so treat Blazing as a bonus, not the path.
Common questions
Is it “hunt egg” or “haunt egg”? Haunt. The index spells it Haunt Egg; “hunt egg” is a common typo in searches and comments, and there is no separate Hunt Egg.
How many Haunt Eggs does it take to get a Doll Hen? At roughly 2% the average is around 50 eggs, with no guarantee. Multiple Zombie Chicks or an Incubator slot is how players get there.
Does Reaper Rooster keep laying Haunt Eggs? Yes, 100% by the index, and players say it lays quickly, so a Reaper doubles as your best layer.
